Legs of Steel rake in two powder trophys!

What a surprise! As in the end of January the infamous Powder Awards, the Oscar of freeskiing, were awarded in Aspen, Colorado, also the German boys from Legs of Steel, Thomas Hlawitschka and Paddy Graham, rake in two trophys. Legs of Steel pioneer and co-initiator Tobi Reindl was so stoked from the snowy Alps this time, that he stayed at home and made some good powder runs (-:! But that did not restrain the crew from travelling to the Rocky Mountains, moreover they were accompanied by Sebi Geiger, Lolo Favre, Oscar Scherlin and Antti Ollila. Twice the boys marched on stage to receive their trophies. The medals were awarded in the categories “Best Powder Segment” and “Best Man Made Air” (13 Men Train ). Yeah, fuckin ‘great!

Season opening video contest – the “Dorfkinder” rake in the cash!

As you may remember, we were looking for the best self-shot videos of the Tyrolean glacier areas in conjunction with Planet Tyrol and other media partners early December! At the season opening video contest, a total of 44 submitted videos battled for a prize money of 1000 € and nice goodies from Snowlab. Now finally, Planet Tyrol picked the winner! We may proudly present:

the “Dorfkinder” with their snowboardedit “Kaunertal-season opener.” Fine runs through the Snowpark Kaunertal, impressive shots in Kaunertalers’ backcountry and a cool “Dorfkinder”-crew made this thing a winner. We reckon this. Therefore, we proffer you the 1st-place-edit now again in full length! Enjoy!

Spring Classics Kaunertal

From 14^th April until 28^th May 2012, the Kaunertal glacier is ready for take off again. Once the spring is greeted in the valley with flip-flops and green meadows, Tyrols youngest glacier accelerates once more. Like every year in April, the Spring Classics will be heralded to enable all enthusiastic riders seven weeks more full of powderturns and shred-fun in a relaxed “spring atmosphere”. Also on this years’ Spring Classics from 14.04. – 28.05.2012, a hardworking shaper team ensures a great Snowpark Kaunertal with a perfectly shaped setup, full of varied jibs and kickers. Note it already now red in your calendar and get closed to the action when it’s called again: “No classics like Spring Classics”.

From April 14th until May 28th 2012 Kaunertal Glacier will be ready for take-off again

Due to it´s altitude, the youngest glacier of Tyrol in Austria is scoring with extreme snow safety and presents itself in a white robe until late May. While spring is greeted in the valley with flip-flops and green meadows, Kaunertal Glacier accelerates once again. Like every year, the start of the Spring Classics is heralded in April enabling all enthusiastic riders to enjoy seven more weeks of powder turns and shred-fun at Snowpark Kaunertal in a relaxed “spring atmosphere.” Therefore everyone should safe the date and be in the game when it’s on again: “No classics like Spring Classics.”

Resurrected! Have a ganders at the UK Skullcandy team getting some early season shredding in Kaunertal. The weather and park look absolutely perfect for cruising and having a good old time. The riding isn’t too shabby either featuring the likes of Matt MacWhirter, Dom Harington, Katie Blundell, Andy Nudds, Angus Leith, Chris Chatt, Billy Morgan and Scott Penman. Watch out now!
